Located in Colombières sur Orb to the northwest of Hérault, in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park.
Climbers, hikers, nature lovers benefit from a breathtaking setting.
Enjoy a unique place with varied landscapes. The mountains, the forests, and the waterfalls carved by the Arles stream make the Gorges de Colombières wilder than those, nearby, of the Gorges d'Héric.
From the parking indicated on the RD908 at the center of the village of Colombières, you have the opportunity to discover the natural pools just a few meters away on foot (round trip).
There are also numerous sports hikes to traverse the Caroux, the most famous being the "PR des Gorges de Colombières" of 13 km, featuring +818 m of elevation gain!
Details of the itinerary
From the starting board in the parking lot, go down towards RD908, walk for about 5 hours, follow the yellow markings that allow you to ascend out of the Gorges under the shade of the chestnut trees (quite a steep start, 400 m of elevation gain).
Discover the rocks that house troglodyte houses, before enjoying the pools at La Fage.
The descent is via an ancient paved Roman road, winding through chestnut groves, between heather and genista.
Designed passages with wide slabs are regularly laid flat for your safety.
We discourage this hike in foggy or wet weather, as some sections may be slippery and dangerous, or if you are prone to vertigo.

How to get there ?
To get there, follow the RD 908, a small parking area is available at the entrance of the Gorges: Parking Mairie/ Hike indicated in the center of Colombières.
Paid from July 1 to August 31: 3€ Cash payment only.
You are in the heart of a classified site: wild camping is prohibited according to the law on the classified zone. Consult the map of the classified site's perimeter.
it is prohibited throughout the municipality of Colombières sur Orb (including the Gorges, paths...)
Wild camping, fires, barbecues, and the use of stoves are strictly prohibited.
Motorhomes are not allowed in the municipality, especially in the parking area due to the ascent of a small slope.
Dogs are not allowed in the watercourse. Keep on a leash on the paths.
