In the first room, a geological study provides information about the Vallée de la Cesse (Cesse Valley). The most interesting rooms are the ones containing various trilobite fossils (500 million years old) found in Le Brian, which are the oldest fossils in France.
You can also enjoy viewing dinosaur remains.
The second room focuses on the evolution of flint knapping through the ages and cultures.
The Grotte d’Aldène (Aldène Cave), renowned for its animal tracks, is featured with paw print casts, images of rock engravings, bear skulls found in the caves, etc.
A model recreates Simon de Montfort's siege of Minerve in 1210.
The exhibition on the first floor shows the excavations made during the renovation of the ramparts.
This preventive archaeological operation produced exceptional results as more than 6,000 objects were collected, shedding light on the history of a site dating back over 3,000 years.
