- A voir, à faire -= la circulade célèbre dit escargot d’Aigne

-History -It must be pointed out that a Roman road went from Aigne to Minerve by Saint Abdon, another went from Aigne to Beaufort. In Saint-Michel was to find a Roman villa that would have delivered some clues in the form of tiles, pottery, paintings, briquettes ... At La Prade, Mouleyres, Sainte Léocadie, Clauzes and La Lèque were Roman villas. The first delivered murals, a bronze hand and others and the second, in addition to tiles, dolia and amphora of the Campanian. Remains of the old town, there is the famous circulade of the year 1000, said snail of Aigne, name given by the very shape of the buildings which surround the parish church Saint-Martin, central point of the village. At the time of the Viscounts of Minerva, Aigne was a dependency of the castle of Minerve, under the protection of the outpost of guard of Lacaune under Minerve (La Caunette of our days). It was an agricultural domain situated on a plateau with nonexistent surface water, completely isolated from the great invasion and communication routes, but delivered to the breeding of wool cattle and the meager grain and fodder crops.
